Gibson Hummingbird Special Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Rosewood Fingerboard, Satin Natural

Traditional, square-shouldered, and legendary, the Gibson Hummingbird Special returns with a Satin Natural finish. Since 1960, the Hummingbird model has inspired generations of musicians, adding another flavor to full bodied dreadnought guitars. The Hummingbird Special brings heritage design and modern craftsmanship together for a refreshed take on the iconic guitar.

Crafted using premium material in Bozeman, Montana, the Humming features a solid Sitka spruce top paired with solid mahogany back and sides. The body is supported by traditional scalloped x-style bracing, delivering a warm, balanced tone well suited for many styles of music. The body is slightly thinner than a traditional Hummingbird, giving it a tighter bass response and making it easier to hold for longer durations of time. Adding to the fit and finish, the body is accented by single ply cream binding on the top/back and receives the signature hummingbird pickguard.

Affixed to the body with hot hide glue and a compound neck-to-body joint, a utile neck with a Rounded profile offers a traditional feeling play experience. The 12-inch radius rosewood fingerboard sports pearloid parallelogram inlays, a visual hallmark of the Hummingbird. Strings are loaded traditional belly up bridge and are capped with TUSQ bridge pins before making their way to the open-book headstock with Grover Rotomatic tuning machines.

For on the go plug-and-play flexibility, a L.R. Baggs Element Bronze under-saddle piezo pickup amplifies the guitar wonderfully, offering studio grade sound. A soundhole-mounted volume dial offers fast and convenient control over the output.

Complete with a premium softshell case, the Gibson Hummingbird Special offers up a ton of modern features while still retaining its vintage identity.

  • Sitka spruce top
  • Mahogany back and sides
  • Rosewood fingerboard with pearloid parallelogram inlays
